Thirty Six hours earlier, Alisa Blair wasn’t the head coach of the Texas Tech volleyball program. Tuesday night, she walked off the floor at United Supermarkets Arena 1-0. It certainly didn’t start the way Blair or the Lady Raiders envisioned. Texas Tech committed eight errors, hit just .034 and watched Tarleton State take control of the opening set in a 25-14 win.

District 3-5A took center stage with a battle of unbeaten teams as Frenship handed Tascosa its first district loss, while Amarillo High remained perfect with an impressive sweep of Lubbock-Cooper. Coronado and Memorial also picked up important district victories as the standings continue to take shape.
