Tuesday night volleyball stretched all the way into Wednesday across the Texas Panhandle after severe weather rolled through Amarillo, bringing shelter in place warnings and forcing multiple matches to be suspended before they could be completed. Teams left gyms Tuesday night not knowing exactly when they would finish, then returned Wednesday to pick up right where they left off.
And there was plenty happening on the court too. The Tigers won the Battle of Frenship, Tascosa and Amarillo High stayed tied atop District 3-5A at 10-1, Lubbock Cooper made it seven straight wins, Andrews completed a reverse sweep of Greenwood in a battle of district unbeatens, and Odessa High rallied past Permian in a five set crosstown thriller.

TIGERS WINS THE BATTLE OF FRENSHIP! šš„
Frenship and Memorial delivered a battle worthy of the matchup Tuesday night. Memorial grabbed the opening set, but the Tigers answered by surviving back to back nail biters, 26-24 and 27-25, to completely swing the momentum. Frenship carried it into the fourth, closing out Memorial 25-19 to take the four set victory.
Reese Roberts delivered a huge all around performance with 18 kills, 13 digs and three blocks, while Campbell Wilson anchored the back row with 27 digs.

Tascosa kept rolling in District 3-5A, taking down Monterey in straight sets to pick up its 10th district victory. The Lady Rebels controlled the opening set, fought off Monterey in a tight second and then slammed the door with a dominant 25-12 third.

Lubbock Cooper kept its winning streak rolling Tuesday night, but Coronado made the Lady Pirates work for every set. All three sets were decided by four points or less, with Cooper finding a way to finish each one and secure its seventh consecutive victory.
Broox Lopez led the way with 19 assists, eight kills, 10 digs and four aces, while Lindsay Haynes added nine kills. Now the stage is set for a huge District 3-5A showdown as the Lady Pirates welcome first place Tascosa to Woodrow for a rematch that will also serve as Cooper's Pink Out Game!

It was a crazy couple of days for Lubbock High after severe weather interrupted Tuesday nightās match in Amarillo. The Westerners returned Wednesday and battled to extend the match, taking the third set and pushing the fourth to the wire, but Palo Duro held on 27-25 to close it out.
