In a heartfelt letter to Texas Tech fans, tight end Jalin Conyers reflected on his football journey, celebrated a season full of personal achievements, and announced his intention to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft.
Conyers, a former standout athlete from Gruver, Texas, and a senior transfer from Arizona State, has cemented his legacy in Lubbock during his lone season with the Red Raiders. The tight end concluded the 2024-25 season with 29 receptions for 308 yards and five touchdowns, earning a place on the All-Big 12 second team. He also showcased his versatility, throwing for a touchdown, rushing for another, and finishing with a league-best blocking grade among Big 12 tight ends.

This honor makes Conyers the first Texas Tech tight end to be named to a first or second All-Big 12 conference team since 2013, marking a significant milestone for the position in the program.
In his letter, Conyers expressed his deep gratitude to the Texas Tech community, coaching staff, and his teammates. “It has always been my dream to play with the Double T on my chest,” he wrote. “Because of y’all, I feel I will always be a Red Raider for life.”
Before arriving in Lubbock, Conyers played three seasons at Arizona State, where he tallied 74 catches for 846 yards and six touchdowns while earning a reputation as a versatile offensive weapon. A Wildcat formation quarterback at times, he rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries during his collegiate career.
Conyers’ journey to Texas Tech included stops at Oklahoma in 2020 and Arizona State from 2021 to 2023, but the decision to return to his home state for his final year proved to be a storybook ending.
While his contributions on the field were invaluable, his leadership and camaraderie left an indelible mark on the team. “To my teammates, you are all my brothers for life,” Conyers said in his letter. “I have made relationships that will last me a lifetime.”
Conyers also credited head coach Joey McGuire and the Texas Tech coaching staff for helping him reach new heights. “Y’all took something in me I didn’t know I had and turned me into the player I am today,” he shared.
As Conyers prepares for the next chapter in his football journey, Red Raider Nation can take pride in the legacy he leaves behind. His stellar season, marked by big plays and bigger leadership, sets the stage for a promising future in the NFL.
“I am grateful and blessed to announce I will begin training for the 2025 NFL Draft,” Conyers concluded. “Thank you, Texas Tech. Wreck ’Em!”
