Justin Wiley Steps Down as Abernathy Head Football Coach, Accepts Defensive Coordinator Position at Hawley

A coaching change is underway in Abernathy.

After nine years with the Antelopes, including six seasons as Head Football Coach and Athletic Director, Justin Wiley has accepted the Defensive Coordinator position at Hawley.

The move allows Wiley to be closer to family and help care for his parents.

During his tenure as head coach, Wiley compiled an impressive 45–25 record and led the Antelopes to the playoffs in every season at the helm. Under his leadership, Abernathy established consistency and remained a postseason presence year after year.

Wiley’s departure leaves the Abernathy head football job officially open as the Antelopes begin the search for their next leader.
