🏈 LIBERTY PATRIOT FOOTBALL PREVIEW

There is a lot to be excited about with Liberty Patriot Football this year, but the thing that jumps out to me first is this number.

37 seniors.

This is the first senior class that has gone through all four years of Coach Sexton’s program, and after watching the growth of this group over the last couple of seasons, that matters.

We saw Liberty in Week 1 each of the past two years and the jump from year 1 to 2 was impressive. How much bigger, faster and stronger they were was incredible. In 2024, the Patriots finished 2-8. Last year they made a massive jump, going 10-2, winning the first district championship in program history and bringing home the program’s first gold ball.

Now they bring back 9 starters on defense and 6 on offense with a senior class that knows exactly what Coach Sexton expects.

Offensively, there are some dudes to keep an eye on.

Cy Leach takes over at quarterback. He stands 6 feet tall and has some really good arm talent. Pierce Fioroni is a weapon at WR, while 6'6" tight end Koleman Hendrix gives Leach a massive target who likes to find the end zone. Then you have Kaiden Joseph in the backfield, who brings legitimate speed running a 4.5 40 and has the potential to take the ball to the house every time he touches it. 

But if you listen to people around the state talk about Liberty, there is one position group that keeps coming up.

That defensive line.

It starts with Isaac Rodriguez, alongside Rylan Thomas and Jeremiah Leyando. There is size, strength and experience up front and you already know Coach Tolliver is going to have those guys ready to pin their ears back and get after quarterbacks.

The jump from 2024 to 2025 was incredible to watch.

Now we get to find out what another year of growth in Coach Sexton’s system, 37 seniors and a whole lot of returning experience can do.

It is going to be fun to see just how much more this group can accomplish in 2026.
