WEEK 2 IS HERE: West Texas Football Turns the Page After a Wild Opening Week

After a Week 1 that had a little bit of everything, West Texas high school football is officially back in full swing.

Brownfield snapped a 23 game losing streak to open the season with a win.

Amarillo High earned early bragging rights with a 21-7 victory over crosstown rival Palo Duro.

Canadian quarterback Weston Mitchell announced himself in a big way, accounting for nearly 700 yards of offense and seven touchdowns, throwing for 528 yards and adding another 156 on the ground against Panhandle.

Week 1 gave us plenty to talk about, and now our attention turns to Week 2 and another loaded slate across the South Plains and Texas Panhandle.
