The Lubbock-Cooper Liberty Lady Patriots have already proven themselves as one of the elite programs in Texas volleyball, and this past weekend in Glen Rose was just another chapter in their incredible early-season run.

A Red-Hot Start
Liberty entered the Glen Rose Tournament unbeaten at 9-0, fresh off capturing the prestigious Bev Ball Classic Championship last weekend in Abilene. Despite the mileage piling up, the Lady Patriots showed no signs of slowing down early.
They opened tournament play Thursday in dominant fashion, sweeping all three of their matches:
✅ Westwood 25-16, 25-19
✅ #4 Wimberley 25-13, 25-21
✅ Lorena 25-20, 25-16
Owning Pool Play
On Friday, Liberty raised the bar even higher, sweeping through pool play in convincing fashion:
✅ #1 Decatur 25-23, 25-15
✅ Crowley 25-8, 25-9
✅ Leon 25-21, 27-26
That set the stage for a dramatic Saturday run.
A Thrilling Finish
The Lady Patriots continued their dominance in the bracket, knocking off Nolan Catholic in straight sets (25-16, 25-22) in the quarterfinals.
Then came a semifinal classic against West Plains, one that will be remembered as a match-of-the-year candidate. Liberty outlasted the Lady Wolves in three grueling sets, 25-13, 23-25, 18-16, surviving two match points in the third set to punch their ticket to the finals.
In the championship, Liberty’s incredible run finally came to an end against a tough Liberty Hill squad. Despite pushing the match to three sets, the Lady Patriots fell just short, 24-26, 25-17, 11-15.
The Bigger Picture
Saturday’s championship was the Lady Patriots’ 17th match in the past 8 days, an unbelievable stretch that saw them claim the Bev Ball Classic title and finish runner-up in Glen Rose. The run in Glen Rose this weekend included victories over the defending 4A-D1 (Decatur) and 4A-D2 (Wimberly) State Champions. Few programs in the state have showcased this level of endurance and excellence in such a short span.
Individual Highlights
Campbell Beeler and sophomore Lexie Allgood earned All-Tournament honors, showcasing both the veteran leadership and rising young talent the Lady Patriots roster is loaded with.

Two Lady Patriots also etched their names into the record books as Kennedy Ezell and Taelyn Salinas each recorded their 1,000th career dig during the tournament, incredible milestones in their decorated careers.

What’s Next
Liberty (now 17-1 on the season) won’t have much time to rest. Next up, they’ll square off with another powerhouse when they take on TGCA 3A #1 Shallowater on Tuesday.
If the last two weeks are any indication, the Lady Patriots aren’t just competing at a high level, they’re building the foundation what is shaping up to be a very special season.
