Full Bev Ball Classic Recap: Liberty Lady Patriots Claim the Crown

Abilene, TX: The 2025 Bev Ball Classic brought together some of the top volleyball talent in West Texas, and when the dust settled it was the Liberty Lady Patriots who stood tallest. Liberty stormed through the tournament with a perfect 7–0 record, dropping just two sets all weekend on their way to the Championship.


The Lady Patriots didn’t just win the title, they swept the superlative individual awards.


  • Campbell Beeler - Tournament MVP

  • Ellis Roberts - Best Hitter

  • Jacelyn Gestes - Best Setter

  • Kennedy Ezell - Best Defensive Player

Andrews proved they belong among the elite, finishing Top 4 in a loaded field. Rylan Newbrough earned All-Tournament honors with 49 kills, 10.5 blocks, and 21 digs.Other top performers included:


  • Addy Baeza - 25 kills, 9 digs

  • Emma Sauceda - 80 assists, 36 digs, 11 kills

  • Anah Bueno - 58 assists, 31 digs, 5 aces

  • Danlee Fisher - 8 aces, 66 digs

Frenship Tigers (T-5th Place)

Frenship made noise early by taking down defending champion Boerne Champion, before bowing out in the quarterfinals. The Tigers tied for 5th place overall.

  • Brooklyn Cox - 7 kills, 4 blocks

  • Hana Hutcheson - 24 assists, 16 digs

  • Emma Harrell - 25 digs


Dumas Demons (Silver Bracket Consolation Champs)

Dumas battled through ups and downs across a 4–3 weekend to win the Silver Bracket Consolation.


  • Haley Winegarner - 30 kills

  • Sophie Clements - 25 kills, 54 assists, 18 aces

  • Alang Makuei - 24 kills, 11 blocks

  • Suzette Reyes - 71 digs

  • Demi Bitonel - 14 blocks


Other Notables


  • Lubbock Coronado: Went 3–0 in pool play before falling to Midland in the quarterfinals.

  • Lubbock Monterey: Finished 2–1 in pool play, eliminated by Liberty in the quarterfinals.

  • Midland High: Knocked off Coronado in bracket play and secured a 3rd-place finish, with Lillian Earl and Victoria Azarov named to the All-Tournament Team.

  • Wylie Bulldogs: Runner-up finish with D’Nae Dolton, Logan Hill, and Kiki Bolden honored on the All-Tournament Team.


Final Thoughts


The Bev Ball Classic once again lived up to its reputation as one of the premier volleyball tournaments in West Texas, showcasing state-title contenders and emerging stars alike. The Liberty Lady Patriots made a dominant run with a clean sweep of the superlative awards, while teams like Andrews, Frenship, Midland, and Wylie showed they’ll be forces throughout the 2025 season.
