It was another thrilling night of West Texas volleyball, with key 3-5A district battles and marquee non-district matchups showcasing a major upset and several standout performances.
Coronado Stuns Lubbock-Cooper in Five-Set Thriller

The upset of the night came in Lubbock, where the Coronado Lady Mustangs outlasted the Lubbock-Cooper Lady Pirates in a five-set battle (25-14, 25-18, 24-26, 23-25, 15-10). Coronado stormed out to a 2-0 lead, only to see Cooper rally back and force a deciding fifth set. The Mustangs steadied themselves, sealing the match with a clutch ace from Rigley Brown to finish it off.

Amarillo High Sweeps Plainview
Amarillo High stayed perfect in district play with a sweep of Plainview (25-11, 25-16, 25-17). Behind a balanced attack and stingy defense, the Sandies improved to 15-9 overall and 3-0 in district play.

Liberty Sweeps Canyon on Grandparents Night

In front of a packed house at Liberty for Grandparents Night, the Lady Patriots delivered a sweep over Canyon in what turned into one of the most electric atmospheres of the night. Each set came down to the wire, but Liberty came up clutch in the biggest moments, pulling out the 25-22, 26-24, 25-23 victory.

West Plains Outlasts Bushland in Five
One of the marquee matchups in the area Tuesday night lived up to the billing as the West Plains Lady Wolves went on the road and knocked off perennial power Bushland in a five-set thriller (21-25, 25-13, 25-22, 18-25, 15-10).
The back-and-forth battle showcased two of the top programs in the Panhandle, with West Plains ultimately showing poise in the decisive fifth set to secure the statement victory. The win improves the Lady Wolves to 17-8 overall on the season.

In a clash of two strong programs, the Shallowater Fillies came up short against Randall, falling in straight sets (18-25, 22-25, 20-25). Despite a hard-fought effort, Randall’s balance proved too much as the Fillies dropped to 19-6 overall on the season.

The Dalhart Lady Wolves kept their strong season rolling with a four-set win over the Dumas Demonettes, taking the match 25-22, 25-23, 16-25, 25-13. Dalhart controlled the first two sets, weathered a Dumas push in the third, and then closed it out with a convincing fourth set. The victory improves the Lady Wolves to 19-4-2 overall.
