It’s hard to believe, but the UIL volleyball regular season wraps up next weekend, and the playoff picture across West Texas is starting to take shape. Teams are clinching spots, battling for seeding, and in some cases, chasing district championships that could come down to the final match. From programs celebrating historic milestones to others fighting to extend their seasons, the intensity is reaching its peak and every point matters as the road to the postseason begins to take form.



District 4-4A

It was a milestone evening for the Lubbock-Cooper Liberty Lady Patriots, who made history Tuesday night by earning the 100th win in program history, all under the leadership of Coach Anderson, who simultaneously notched her 100th career victory.


The Lady Patriots continued their dominance with a commanding sweep of Lubbock Estacado (25-3, 25-7, 25-9), improving to 37-2 overall and 9-0 in District 5-4A.

The Amarillo High Lady Sandies officially clinched at least a share of the District 3-5A Championship on Tuesday night with a commanding sweep of rival Tascosa (25-19, 25-21, 25-15). The win extends AHS’s district record to 14-0 and overall mark to 28-9, giving them a two-game lead with two matches remaining.

The Lubbock-Cooper Lady Pirates celebrated Senior Night in style, cruising past Lubbock High in straight sets (25-13, 25-15, 25-17). With the win, the Lady Pirates improve to 22-10 overall and 10-3 in district play, setting up a key matchup at Tascosa on Friday.

The Coronado Lady Mustangs continued their strong district play with a convincing three-set sweep over Plainview (25-19, 25-11, 25-23) on Tuesday night. The win moves Coronado to 9-4 in district and 20-16 overall heading into Friday’s road matchup at Caprock.

In what was easily the match of the night, the Canyon Lady Eagles went on the road and made a statement, taking down rival Randall inside the House of Doom to hand the Lady Raiders their first district loss of the season. The win keeps Canyon firmly in the hunt for a District 4-4A Championship.


Canyon controlled the momentum late, closing out a hard-fought four-set victory (25-19, 20-25, 25-15, 25-22).

🏐 West Plains Sweeps Perryton to Set Up District Championship Showdown


The West Plains Lady Wolves kept their momentum going Tuesday night, earning a clean sweep over Perryton (25-14, 25-20, 25-14). The win moves West Plains to 27-11 overall and sets the stage for a massive district showdown on Saturday against Randall.


If Randall wins, the Lady Raiders will take control of the District 4-4A title race. But if West Plains pulls off the victory, it will create a three-way tie at the top between Randall, Canyon, and West Plains, making the final week of district play one to watch.
