The Liberty Lady Patriots closed out their home schedule in emphatic fashion Tuesday night, securing an 8-0 shutout victory over Pecos to clinch the district championship. The win moves Liberty to an impressive 15-1-3 overall record and a dominant 14-0-1 mark in district play.

From the opening whistle, the Lady Patriots set the tone, attacking aggressively and overwhelming Pecos with their precision passing and relentless pressure. Senior forward Bella Cavazos led the scoring charge with a hat trick while Alyssa Cuevas added two goals of her own while also playing the role of playmaker, dishing out three assists.
Caroline McDonald, Aerin Cavazos, and Ashton Wilkins each found the back of the net as well, rounding out a complete offensive performance. Wilkins, Emma White, and Taylor Gonzalez also contributed with key assists, showcasing Liberty’s depth and unselfish play.
While the offense put on a clinic, the defense once again proved to be impenetrable. Goalkeeper Karson Killham recorded her 12th consecutive shutout, anchoring a backline that has been virtually unbreakable throughout district play. The Lady Patriots' defensive unit controlled possession and stifled any attempt by Pecos to mount an attack.
With the district title now officially in their grasp, Liberty turns its focus to the upcoming postseason, where they will look to continue their dominance and make a deep playoff run. If Tuesday’s performance was any indication, the Lady Patriots are peaking at the perfect time and ready to take on all challengers.
Liberty will conclude the regular season on the road against Estacado Friday, aiming to finish off an undefeated district slate.
