CANYON, TX — April 19, 2025 — On a cold and gray Saturday afternoon at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, the Region I-2A track meet served up plenty of drama, speed, and standout performances—none bigger than the relay showdowns that decided State qualifiers.
The Panhandle Pantherettes walked away with the girls' team title in dominant fashion, doubling up the competition with 98 points to Farwell’s 49. Leading the way were their three relay golds, proving they’re not just heading to Austin—they have their eyes set on their 3rd straight State Team Title!

Panhandle Girls Sweep
In the girls 4x100, Panhandle’s team of Ell Robinson, Carly Land, Lexi Durst, and Leah Land fired off a 48.37 for gold. But the feel-good story of the event came just behind them, as New Home—a year removed from missing State in all three relays due to exchange issues—clinched silver and a State berth with a 49.58 behind Cambrey Bundy, Berkley Bass, Presley Smith, and MaKenna Johnson.
That same New Home squad duplicated their performance in the 4x200, taking second with a time of 1:46.17 behind another dominant run from Panhandle’s Robinson, Austin, Durst, and Land.

The Pantherettes capped off their relay sweep with a convincing win in the 4x400, where Robinson and Leah Land earned their third relay gold of the day, teaming with Addison McCoid and Carly Land to clock a 3:57.34, more than 11 seconds clear of the field. Wink earned the other State ticket at 4:08.79, narrowly holding off Sunray in a dramatic finish. Wink’s squad included Delany Dodd-Fernandez, Marlee Ramirez, Logan Lang, and Aizlyn Dewberry.
Reagan County Boys Dominate
On the boys’ side, Reagan County showed they’ll be a force in Austin after sweeping the sprint relays. Their team of Omrie Johnson, Kason Brown, Chris Johnson, and Nick Franklin blistered the track in 42.73 to win the 4x100, then came back to take the 4x200 in 1:29.03.
In the 4x100, Ropes snuck into the second spot after a thrilling anchor leg from Kolter Dockery, who overtook Post at the line. Dockery joined Mason Marmolejo, Reese Williams, and Branson Simental to deliver the Eagles to Austin.
