The Liberty Lady Patriots are finding their rhythm at the right time. With district play just around the corner, they delivered a statement win on Tuesday night, overpowering the Abernathy Lady Lopes 16-5 behind a relentless offensive attack and a strong performance from Harli Stone.
Jacy McKown led the charge at the plate, going 3-for-4 and scoring 4 runs, helping set the tone early for the Lady Patriots. Liberty wasted no time getting on the board, striking for five runs in the first inning. Mia Gonzalez got things rolling with a triple to drive in the first run, followed by key RBI hits from McKown, Brielle Gonzalez, and Ella Contreras.

The bats stayed hot in the second inning as the Lady Patriots erupted for seven more runs on eight hits. Kaylee McKee started the rally with an RBI single, Hagen Walker followed with an RBI double, and Contreras added two more runs with a single of her own.
Contreras continued to shine, delivering a third-inning RBI single to push the lead to 13-3. She finished the night 3-for-3 with a team-high four RBIs.
In the circle, Harli Stone earned the win, limiting Abernathy to 5 runs over 3.2 innings with two strikeouts. Jacy McKown closed it out pitching 1.2 innings and collecting 2 strikeouts while not allowing a Lady Lopes run.
Liberty’s offense was unstoppable, collecting 19 hits on the night. McKown, McKee, Contreras, Stone, and Gonzalez each recorded three hits, while Walker and Gonzalez added multi-hit performances. The Lady Patriots were also aggressive on the base paths, swiping four stolen bases.
With the victory, Liberty is building momentum at the perfect time. They’ll look to keep rolling in their final non-district matchup on Saturday at Ralls before turning their focus to district play next week.
