The Frenship Tigers delivered a dominant offensive performance on Saturday to close out the QuarterFour First Pitch Classic, securing a 12-8 win over Amarillo High.


After Amarillo High took an early 1-0 lead with a solo home run in the first, the Tigers responded in a huge way in the bottom of the second. Frenship erupted for nine runs on nine hits, highlighted by a three-run blast to center by Kelvie Roberts on a 3-0 count.


The Tigers kept the momentum going, adding another run in the third when Lexi Clark singled to center.

Amarillo fought back in the fourth, cutting the lead to 10-5 with a three-run homer, but Frenship held strong. The Sandies pulled within four in the fifth, but the Tigers’ defense and pitching shut the door the rest of the way.

On the Mound:


 Lexi Clark went the distance for the Tigers, striking out 11 while allowing eight runs on eight hits in five innings of work.


Not only did the Tigers dominate at the plate, but they were also flawless on defense, committing zero errors with Ava Ramirez leading the way with multiple key plays.
