The Jacksboro Tigers and Wall Hawks have bulldozed their way through the Region 1 bracket and now find themselves just one series away from the UIL State rounds. Both squads enter the Regional Final unbeaten in the playoffs, combining for a perfect 12-0 postseason record. Jacksboro has leaned on dominant pitching and airtight defense, while Wall has used explosive innings and deep lineup production to overwhelm opponents. Something’s got to give and it’s setting up to be a clash of styles with a state berth on the line.
🔥 Tigers Roaring Through Region 1

Jacksboro (23-4) has been on a mission all postseason, riding dominant pitching and disciplined, opportunistic offense to a perfect 6-0 playoff record. With arms like Cannon Valenzuela and Wyatt Gavit at the front of the rotation, and a defense that has not committed a single error in the last four playoff games, the Tigers are playing clean, efficient baseball at the perfect time.
🐅 What to Watch For — Jacksboro
Pitching One-Two Punch: Wyatt Gavit and Cannon Valenzuela have formed one of the top duos in Region 1. Valenzuela has allowed just one earned run in three playoff starts, while Gavit tossed a complete game two-hitter in the Area round and followed with a seven-inning win vs. Lamesa.
Bottom-of-the-Order Production: In Game 1 vs. Lamesa, Joxan Delgado, Kase Dennis, and Brody Roberts combined for 5 hits and 5 RBIs. If the bottom third produces again, Jacksboro becomes nearly impossible to slow down.
Clean Defense: The Tigers haven’t committed an error since the Area round. With catch-and-throw guys like Lochlan Pardue anchoring the infield, Jacksboro plays sound, fundamental baseball.
Gavit’s Bat is Heating Up: The senior leadoff man is hitting everything right now — 5-for-5 in the Regional Semis with a triple and a home run.
📈 Playoff Path:
🆚 Millsap (10-0, 10-0)
🆚 Clyde (2-0, 3-1)
🆚 Lamesa (10-2, 6-1)
🦅 Wall Continues Playoff Dominance

Wall (27-3) has steamrolled its playoff path, winning six straight and outscoring opponents 64-7. Whether it’s the top of the lineup with Kellan Oliver and Caleb Braden getting on base, or the power and clutch hitting from guys like Dillard and Dankworth in the middle, the Hawks have showcased explosive offense and deep pitching.
This is a team that hits in waves, applies constant pressure on the base paths, and doesn’t flinch in big moments.
🦅 What to Watch For — Wall
Power & Patience at the Plate: Wall has drawn 31 walks over its last four games and backed that up with double-digit hits in three of those contests. Their ability to wait for the right pitch and punish mistakes makes them dangerous 1 through 9.
Shutdown Starters: Gage Reichenau and Reid Ballard have allowed just three earned runs combined in six postseason appearances. Ballard struck out 10 in his Regional Semifinal start and has been nearly untouchable when ahead in the count.
Ollie Gets It Going: Leadoff man Kellan Oliver sets the tone — he went 5-for-7 with 4 RBIs and 3 doubles in the sweep of Idalou.
Aggressive Base Running: Wall has tallied 20+ stolen bases this postseason and constantly puts pressure on opposing defenses.
📈 Playoff Path:
🆚 Comfort (11-1, 14-2)
🆚 Henrietta (4-2)
🆚 Idalou (10-0, 11-1)
