NEW HOME – On a windy day at The Zant, the New Home Leopards made the most of the conditions, using aggressive baserunning and timely hitting to cruise past the Seagraves Eagles 13-3 on Monday.

Bransen Beckham led the charge at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three singles while also picking up the win on the mound. The right-hander worked six strong innings, allowing just two hits and three runs (one earned) while striking out four and walking two.

The Leopards wasted no time grabbing control of the game, plating four runs in the bottom of the first. An early Seagraves error brought in two runs before Beckham singled home another. Jair Johnson capped off the inning with an RBI groundout.

New Home kept the pressure on in the second, adding three more runs. Graham Stanford ignited the rally with an RBI triple down the right-field line, followed by a Hunter Burrell groundout and a daring steal of home by Ryder Watkins.

Meanwhile, Beckham kept the Seagraves lineup in check, working efficiently despite the winds. The Eagles managed just two hits against him, with Devin Espino and Zane Thompson each notching a single.

New Home’s relentless approach at the plate and on the basepaths proved too much for Seagraves to overcome. The Leopards racked up 10 hits and showed patience with six walks. Watkins collected two hits, while Ryder Starkey and Tucker Cotton each drew two free passes. When they got on, they ran at will, swiping an eye-popping 16 bases. Starkey, Watkins, Cooper Brown, and Beckham each stole multiple bags.

Lucas Mijares took the loss for the Eagles, surrendering 11 runs (nine earned) over four and two-thirds innings, walking six and striking out three.

Seagraves scratched across single runs in the second, third, and fifth innings, with Noah Sarabia, Mijares, and Luis Quesada each driving in a run.

New Home 11-4-1 overall and 4-0 in district play will look to keep rolling when they host Sundown on Saturday.
