LUBBOCK, TX – The Liberty Patriots pulled off a stunning comeback Saturday afternoon, erasing a seven-run deficit to defeat the Levelland Lobos 8-7 in a walk-off thriller.

Trailing 7-6 in the bottom of the seventh, Liberty's Garrett Rowden stepped up in the clutch, delivering a game-winning single that brought home two runs and sealed the dramatic victory for the Patriots.

Early Struggles for Liberty

Levelland struck first in the opening frame when Jake Potter, down in the count 0-2, singled to drive in a run. The Lobos continued to build on their lead, breaking the game open with a five-run sixth inning. The offensive explosion featured a triple from RJ Mireles that plated a run, a bases-loaded walk by Kade Pemberton, an error that added another, and a two-run single off the bat of Abram Arteaga.

With a commanding 7-0 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth, Levelland seemed poised for victory. However, the Patriots had other plans.

Patriots' Explosive Sixth Inning Sparks Comeback

Liberty finally broke through in the sixth, erupting for six runs on four hits to put themselves right back in the game. Will Hutson's sacrifice fly scored two, Rowden followed with an RBI single, Jackson Gonzalez worked a bases-loaded walk to force in a run, and Cassler Wicks capped off the inning with a clutch two-run single.

Suddenly, what had looked like a blowout was a one-run ballgame heading into the final frame.

Eddins Slams the Door; Rowden Delivers the Knockout Blow

Jaidon Eddins took the mound for Liberty in the top of the seventh and delivered a clean inning, keeping the Lobos off the scoreboard and setting the stage for the Patriots' heroics.

The bottom of the seventh belonged to Rowden. With two runners on, he lined a single into the outfield, sending home the tying and winning runs to complete Liberty's improbable comeback.
