REGIONAL FINAL PREVIEW

#1 Stephenville (13–0) vs #4 West Plains (12–1)

Friday • 7 PM • Lowrey Field

The road to Lowrey Field was dominant for both teams.

Stephenville rolled past Randall 51–6, while West Plains handled Canyon 35–3 to punch their ticket.

This matchup is a rematch of last year’s thriller, where West Plains held on 42–35 after a legendary goal-line stand. The Wolves stuffed Stephenville QB Ryan Gafford at the one-yard line to clinch a trip to the State Semifinals. Expect every bit of that intensity again.

Stephenville Yellow Jackets

Ranked #1 in the state, the Jackets are playing their best ball of the season. Their offense is balanced, explosive and consistent, while the defense has become a problem for just about everyone.

  • RB Zyler McClendon: 108 rushing yards per game with 25 rushing TDs

  • DL C.J. Spellmeier: 9.0 sacks

  • DL Hudson Butchee: 7 sacks

Stephenville can score in bunches and they can pressure quarterbacks as well as anyone left in the bracket.

West Plains Wolves

Reid Macon (Austin Hartsfield for Sideline Sports)

The Wolves enter ranked #4, powered by a high-octane offense behind senior QB Reid Macon, the most experienced QB left in the #TXHSFB playoffs as he is will be making his 54th career start Friday night.

However, they will be without one of their most explosive weapons. Star RB Slade Russell (166 yards per game) is out after emergency surgery following the Area Round win over Lampasas.

That puts even more emphasis on the Wolves’ defense, which has been producing big-time moments in the playoffs.

  • Kaden Hooker: pivotal interception before halftime last week that set up a touchdown

  • Aiden Green: 79-yard scoop-and-score after a fourth-quarter sack

  • Kane White-Tinsley: ballhawk with 5 interceptions on the year

If the Wolves can create more of those momentum-shifting plays, they’ll have a chance to knock off the top-ranked Jackets for the second straight season.
