Top Honors from the 2025 Sideline Sports Baseball Supreme Team

Before unveiling our full list of standouts, we begin by recognizing three players whose performances defined the 2025 season.

These athletes didn’t just put up eye-popping numbers they delivered in the biggest moments, led their teams deep into the playoffs, and set the standard for excellence across West Texas. From the batter’s box to the pitcher’s mound and the field behind them, these three set themselves apart.

Here are your Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and Pitcher of the Year.

2025 Sideline Sports Offensive Player of the Year

Ryder Starkey

New Home Leopards

ree

In a season filled with firepower across the state, Ryder Starkey stood alone at the top.

The New Home junior put together a jaw-dropping stat line in 2025, helping lead the Leopards all the way to the UIL State Championship Game and earning recognition as the National High School RBI Leader.

Starkey slashed .545/.634/1.136 with an OPS of 1.770, racking up:

  • 60 hits

  • 67 RBIs (No. 1 in the nation)

  • 24 doubles, 7 triples, and 9 home runs

  • 65 runs scored and only 9 strikeouts in 142 plate appearances

2025 Sideline Sports Defensive Player of the Year

Gunnar Dillard

Wall Hawks | Oklahoma Baseball Commit

ree

A game-changer on both sides of the ball, Gunnar Dillard anchored the Wall Hawks' incredible run to the UIL 3A State Championship, where he was named Championship Game MVP.

Known for his elite glove and high baseball IQ, Dillard consistently made the tough plays look routine, setting the tone defensively for one of the state’s top teams. But he didn’t just flash the leather, he brought the bat, too.

The Oklahoma commit hit .515 on the year with:

  • 52 hits

  • 12 doubles, 3 triples, and 5 home runs

  • 63 RBIs

Clutch, consistent, and composed — Dillard was the heart of a championship defense and a deserving selection as Sideline Sports' Defensive Player of the Year.

2025 Sideline Sports Pitcher of the Year

Gage Reichenau

Wall Hawks

ree

When the lights were brightest, Gage Reichenau delivered.

The Wall ace was nearly untouchable all season, finishing with a 0.49 ERA, 101 strikeouts, and holding opposing hitters to a batting average below .140.

Reichenau saved his best for last throwing a 1-hit gem in the State Championship game to lead the Hawks to the UIL 3A State Title.

A true competitor with elite command and poise beyond his years, Reichenau was also named the 3A-District 6 Pitcher of the Year and is now your 2025 Sideline Sports Pitcher of the Year.

The 2025 Sideline Sports Baseball Supreme Team

We hear it all the time: “Y’all are more fans than journalists.” and you know what? We’re proud of that.

That passion is exactly why we compiled our First Annual Sideline Sports Supreme Team, and we did it our way, with the same energy, excitement, and respect that West Texas baseball deserves.

Now it’s time to unveil our Top 20 selections, a group of elite athletes who made this season unforgettable. Narrowing this list down was no easy task. There are absolutely some great players who aren’t listed here, and we know that. But we also know this: the 20 names below make up one of the most stacked fantasy rosters you could build.

This isn’t just about stats, it’s about moments, impact, and the kind of players that fans, coaches, and communities rally behind. Because at the end of the day, we’re your voice and this Supreme Team is a reflection of the best baseball our Region had to offer in 2025.
